The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, will soon respond to remarks made by former Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, has said.
In a statement on Monday, Olayinka noted that the FCT Minister would not allow Tambuwal’s recent comments against him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to go unchallenged.
Tambuwal, speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today last Friday, had declared that his political choices were guided by principles of leadership and not personal ties, stressing that he would choose former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over Wike if asked to make a leadership choice.
Reacting, Olayinka said the Minister’s response would expose “what a betrayal is and what it means to have integrity.”
“I have been inundated with calls, especially from journalists, seeking the Minister’s reaction,” Olayinka stated. “Apart from what he said against the Minister, Tambuwal also cast aspersions on President Tinubu, and such will not go unresponded to. Therefore, what I can say is that the Minister will respond accordingly. Till then, let’s keep our fingers crossed.”
