Vanguard Nigeria News: INEC deploys top officials to PDP national convention — Wike’s aide

ABUJA — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has deployed senior officials, including two National Commissioners, to monitor the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention.
The disclosure was made on Sunday by Lere Olayinka, spokesman to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
According to Olayinka, the electoral body is represented at the convention by National Commissioners Sani Adams and Ken Ukeagu.
He added that other top INEC officials present include the Director of Election and Party Monitoring, Joan Arabs; Director of Legal Services, Rakiya Nauzo; and Director of Drafting and Clearance, Nkechi Abuh.
Also in attendance are Mustapha Abubakar, Deputy Director of Party Legal and Liaison, as well as Mas’ud Hassan, Rakiya Dattijo, Umar Hassan and Babangida Shanu.
INEC’s presence at the convention is in line with its statutory role of monitoring political party activities to ensure compliance with electoral laws and guidelines.
