Nyesom Wike Nigeria News: 2027: Turnah-led Bayelsa PDP backs Wike’s alliance with Tinubu

The Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP, has declared its support for the alliance between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory ,FCT, Nyesom Wike, and President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress,APC,ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party also disclosed plans to endorse Tinubu as its preferred presidential candidate in Bayelsa, aligning its political direction with Wike, the PDP national leader, who recently reaffirmed his support for the President at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Bayelsa PDP, under the leadership of its State Chairman, Chief Alabh George Turnah, said the proposed endorsement would serve as a basis for mobilising party members and political stakeholders in support of Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The statement, signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ikaebimo Mark, also identified Turnah as the state coordinator of the National Rainbow Coalition, which is mobilising political support for the President ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to the party, Turnah is committed to coordinating the coalition’s activities in Bayelsa and rallying political stakeholders behind Tinubu’s candidacy.
The Bayelsa PDP urged its members and supporters to remain united as consultations ahead of the elections continue, while calling on them to respect decisions reached through the party’s established political processes.
